I found out there is lot of tartar and culculus deposit on back of teeth inspite of daily tooth brushing. Just want to ask that does acidity play any role in doing this damage? koz I have bad taste in mouth coming from throat.

Plaque contains bacteria that cause cavities and gum disease. As plaque forms and is not removed by proper brushing and flossing, it can harden into tartar sometimes called calculus which is calcified or hardened plaque that attaches to the enamel on your teeth, as well as below the gum line.
Poor oral/mouth hygiene can cause many gastric and throat issues as well.I would suggest you to get done an OPG x ray from a good lab and get consult with dentist for full gum treatment which include scaling, polishing etc.

The acidity of the stomach also referred gastric esophageal reflux disease (GERD) causes stomach acids to back up into the esophagus and sometimes into the mouth. As a result, there is a greater risk of tooth erosion and periodontal problems resulting in bad breath. Because this acid is in constant intimate contact with the teeth, it can demineralize or remove layers from them. In general, the enamel on the tongue and palate surfaces of the teeth are affected rather than the outer or cheek side of the enamel of the teeth. Also patients with GERD experience dry mouth, which intensifies dental bacteria and plaque and can lead to an increase in cavities and decay. I would advise you to first have complete treatment of GERD from a gastroenterologist. and then consult a dentist for your tartar.
